Lease Exits
Lease Exits are a very easy and effective process, but needs to be managed effectively. A lease will NEVER stop billing unless the lease has been exited.
Thus, when a tenant gives notice of his intent to vacate the Asset, you ALWAYS need to schedule an Exit for the current Lease.
To schedule an Exit, follow the steps below:
- Navigate to Leases on the top menu
- Use the Search field to locate the Lease you need to Exit
- Click on View on the right-hand side
- Ensure that the Current lease is selected on the date drop-down at the top
- On the Lease Overview, next to the End Date, click on Schedule Exit
- Select the End Date (Exit date) from the Calendar and select an Exit Reason from the drop-down list
- Also supply any Additional Notes for your Exit if required
- Click on Schedule Exit
- Once the Exit has been scheduled the billing will automatically stop based on the end date specified.
To cancel a Scheduled Exit, you can click on the RED Cancel Exit button on the Exit ticket located just below the Lease details
IMPORTANT TO NOTE - If you have already created Upcoming Terms, you need to first Delete the Upcoming Terms before exiting the Current Lease
Additional check to be done: If any of the billing rules for this lease is set up to NOT "use lease dates", the "schedule exit" function will not stop the billing for these rules if the date range continues after the exit date. If you added custom date ranges for billing rules, always double check if the date does not continue after your exit date.
